WINTER

Winter arrives
Branches are bare
A cold wind blows
Snowflakes drift from above
Icicles dangle from the roof
Dark clouds fill the sky
Storms whoosh through the neighborhood
Snowmen wander through each yard
Jingling bells float on the breeze
Holidays fill the rooms with laughter
As cold toes are warmed near the fireplace
Hands are filled with mugs of hot cocoa
Smells of memories baking are all around
Lights and decorations brighten each home
Hearts are filled with love
Sighs of contentment are heard
Hugs become sweaters we wear
Then one day winter is gone
Spring bursts into bloom
