SNOWFLAKE WISH

I woke up at midnight
to snow on the ground.
Mysterious footprints
Were scattered around.

One here and one there:
Such distance between!
One large. Then one small.
So many to see.

Made by a foot or a hoof
I could not be sure.
Had I made it to Narnia?
I must take a tour.

I do see a lamp post.
There are plenty of trees.
Are those bells in the distance?
Or just hopes on a breeze?

Oh the things I imagine:
Could Aslan be near?
Whiskers and whispers:
The White Witch I fear?

Oh! Joy! Near the Table
Yes! The Lion I see!
The King of Narnia:
He is roaring!
I awaken from my dream.

I rush to my window.
Yes, there is the snow.
White and untouched
In the moonlight glow.
